Open Grants

Goal

This Grant program seeks to award funds to a Johnston County Public School (JCPS) faculty/staff.  These funds may provide resources not available through normal school funding.

Eligibility

Available to all full-time, pre-k to 12th grade educators in Johnston County Public Schools. Grants may be used for a variety of projects and materials. Funds must be used within the timeline provided by the Johnston County Education Foundation  and within the school year in which it was requested, unless systemwide closure.

JCEF Grants Available

For the 2023-2024 school year, up to 3 grants may be awarded of up to $400 each. At least one available grant will be awarded to an educator with one 0-5 years of experience.

Criteria – Project or materials funded with grant monies should:

1. Focus on student learning.
2. Demonstrate an impactful results.
3. Be sustainable, (ability to continue grant or reuse materials).
4. Be accountable, (must provide an overview of how funds will be spent).

Application Deadlines and Details

  • One application per staff/faculty.Fall: Applications are due September 15th, 2023 at 11:59 pm. Any applications timestamped after date and time will be considered for the next grant cycle.

     

  • The grant will be awarded on Oct. 30, 2023. Formal presentation to take place at the JCEF Dream Big Gala on November 4th, 2023.

     

  • A record of the amount of money spent, report of finances of materials, and an evaluation must be completed by April 30th, 2024 or funds must be returned to JCEF.

     

  • If awarded, funds will be made out to the school used for the purpose stated in the application unless prior approval from JCEF.

     

  • Video/visual representation or digital project

     

  • Throughout the project, please capture the implementation of the grant. It is suggested that schools promote the grant recipient on their social media throughout the grant implementation process.
